So Batwoman #6 is out this week, the first issue featuring artwork by Amy Reeder rather than J.H. Williams III. It didn’t knock my socks off, which is unfortunate.
Reeder’s work is a looser line with a lot less depth, and here she’s being asked to continue drawing the book with the kind of kinetics and page design as when JHW3 was drawing his own scripts. I can’t say for certain how I feel about Reeder’s artwork because I don’t believe it’s particularly compatible with how JHW3 is writing the books at the moment.
I’m hoping that that both of them will develop styles that work with each other a little better. It’s a shock to see the book without JHW3’s art, though, I won’t lie, but new things are always strange and take a while to stabilize.

Yeah, this issue felt a little disjointed to me, but I think we all just need time to gel (the readers and the creators too). That being said, this book is still better than like 90% of what DC publishes.
