I’m shocked I’ve never heard the word compersion before. This is what happens when I shun the broader poly community, I suppose. (I shun most broader communities I ostensibly belong to, I don’t like people very much)
Compersion was thrown around a lot during my first year at grad school, between a couple of my friends. I actually wrote about it at one point; we’re going to perpetually be in competition with each other all the time (for grants, publication space in magazines, agents, contests, etc) so compersion is necessary if we want to remain a community.
